Overview

The Key Contacts feature is a core feature of Inheritable (and VitaVault), after all what use would it be to catalogue everything and not involve the people who matter the most? You can import from your existing contacts list or create new ones.

Invite Contacts to share in Inheritable/VitaVault so that you can share documents, lists and information with them.

We link contacts via the Inheritable/VitaVault login email address, so ensure that the person you are adding has provided you with the correct email address. Some people choose to obscure their email address and use the Apple/Google private relay, in which case we only see the relay address. This relay address is shown in the Fly Out menu, accessed via the hamburger menu, top left of the home page. If you have no intention of sharing data with a contact, any appropriate email address is fine.

When the toggle is on, every item you have shared is visible to the contacts you chose. When it is off, nothing is shared with anyone, even if individual items still have contacts set.

Your per-item sharing choices are always preserved, so you can switch everything back on at any time without setting it all up again.

Build a complete picture of the key people in your life, so they are always easy to find and easy to involve when it matters most.

A contact can only view data you have shared with them if they have an Inheritable or VitaVault account. Sending an Inheritable invite is the easiest way to get them set up. Until they accept and create their account, shared data will not be visible to them.

Contact Sharing Toggle. A master switch for all contact sharing. When off, no contacts are shared with anyone, even if individual entries have a contact set. Your sharing settings are preserved so you can turn it back on at any time.

Contact Entries. Each entry shows the contact’s photo or a coloured initial if no photo is set. Tap an entry to view or edit their details. A small Inheritable or VitaVault icon next to the profile image or initial indicates that this person is a recognised Inheritable or VitaVault user.

TA & CH Pills. A small green TA pill marks a contact who is a Trusted Advisor, and a green CH pill marks a Charity. Regular personal contacts show no pill.

Invite Status Icon. An envelope icon with a tick indicates that an Inheritable invite has been sent to and is awaiting acceptance by this contact. Once they are an Inheritable or VitaVault app user, they are then linked and can see data you have shared with them.

Share Icon. A green Angel icon appears on entries that are actively shared with a contact.
