Get Started on Inheritable

What sets Inheritable apart is its gentle approach. You are not expected to complete everything in one sitting. Instead, think of it as a living companion: begin with what you have to hand today, explore a feature here and there, and add details over weeks or months as life unfolds. Whether you are on your mobile phone during a quiet evening or at your desk on the web, the app adapts to your rhythm.

The dashboard is elegantly simple, divided into intuitive sections: Stored & Secured, Access & Sharing, Legal Documents, Legacy Planning, Special Touches and Planning Essentials. At the top, our Information Hub showcases articles you may find interesting and we create new articles regularly.

To start with, just browse the features, take a look at what’s here. Each feature has an abundance of help information, in the top right corner you will see a circle with an “i” in it, tap on that for additional information relevant to the feature or form field you are interested in. On the main dashboard, if you press and hold each feature icon, you will get an information pop up about that feature.

Most features are designed to be simple to use forms, add the information and click save, it’s as easy as that. When you get confident in adding and viewing the information, progress to use the more advanced features like sharing that information with others you can invite into your Inheritable realm.

There is a footer control on the dashboard for quick access to the main sections of the app.

Digital Vault

The Digital Vault is a secure, AES-256 Encrypted space for storing your most important documents, photos, and videos.

You decide who can access what. You can easily organise and update it all, so it reaches the right people when the time comes. It’s not meant as a replacement for your existing file stores, it should be used as a compliment to keep your most important files easy to find and secured. This Digital Vault will be the central store of information for your Digital Executor. Easily Upload from files on your device, from your photo library or directly from your camera.

Password Vault

The Password Vault is a secure, encrypted space for storing your login credentials and sensitive access details.

We use Military Grade Encryption (AES-256) and row-level security, and for passwords themselves, additional external key security is used, so that no one at Inheritable can read these passwords, only you and those you authorise can. You can easily manage and update them, ensuring they reach your Digital Executors when the time comes.

Easily Share or Revoke a password to any Inheritable Contact, during your lifetime and store notes with these passwords and add attachments such as photos or documents.

Vault @ Home

The Vault @ Home feature is for anyone wanting to keep documents, photos or videos in their own home, without uploading them to a cloud service.

Using a USB Flash Drive with a unique identifier on, store your contents on it and use Bit-locker, FileVault or LUKS OS encryption and store the passphrase/unlock code in Inheritable and then assign who you would like to have access and we’ll pass the secret to them when the time comes.

There is no limit to the number of secured devices and you can assign different devices to different Contacts.

Hand this device to your heirs and be sure they have the right information at the right time, all protected and secured until they need it.

Key Contacts

There is no limit to the number of secured devices and you can assign different devices to different Contacts.

Hand this device to your heirs and be sure they have the right information at the right time, all protected and secured until they need it.

Many of the Inheritable features have the ability to share data with other Inheritable Contacts.

To set up your Digital Executors (the ones who ultimately take over your account), they first need to be a Contact and invited by you. They can even use the Free Recipient account.

Digital Executors

A Digital Executor, is the person(s) who will ultimately take over your Inheritable account.

We get permission from you now, for a person you trust and invite to the role of your Digital Executor, to get full access to your Inheritable account, once they accept the role within Inheritable. This typically happens well before Probate kicks in and gives the family access to all the needed information right away.

Of course, a Digital Executor has no access to anything during your lifetime, unless you actively share something specific with them.

There are a number of very specific and verifiable checks we do before ever handing over someone’s account to a Digital Executor.

Trusted Access

The Trusted Access feature allows you to see information that has been shared to you, by one or more of your Contacts.

You will be able to see a read only version of any information shared, such as Passwords, Bucket List items, Finances, Possessions, and so on. Wherever there is a share option, you can see everything shared by all your contacts in one place. Many of the Inheritable features have the ability to share data with other Inheritable Contacts.

This is a great way to share sensitive data as it never leaves the secure confines of Inheritable. You’re always in control of who sees what and when.

Simple Will

This feature provides a structured template for you to create a basic legal document outlining your wishes for asset distribution. This template is designed to be straightforward and generally compliant with most laws for a valid will, such as being in writing, signed by the maker in the presence of two independent witnesses, and clearly expressing intentions.

It includes placeholders for personal details, which you should fill in before printing and signing. You will be able to save your progress and revise any time.

Living Will

This feature outlines your healthcare preferences and related wishes.

This document, also known as an Advance Directive, is designed to guide medical decisions in situations where you may be unable to communicate. It aims to comply with general legal requirements, such as being in writing, signed, and witnessed, while allowing for personalisation.

Finances & Insurances

Keep a record here of all Bank Accounts, Insurances, Pensions, Share Trading, Savings, Mortgages and the like. Not only is it a great place to store all the information in one place, it makes sorting out finances by your Digital Executor much more straight forward.

Treasured Possessions

List all your most important or valuable possessions here, there is room to store notes, who should eventually be the recipient and much more. Attach Photos to this record and you’ll have a full catalogue of items for irrefutable evidence of your wishes. You can also allow the recipient to know of any item due.

Wealth Holdings

Whether you hold residential property or a large business empire, this is the place to store that information, along with instructions & disposition notes. Detail any ownership structures and institutions involved. You decide how it should be bequeathed and when.

Child Guardians

While only a court can decide the guardianship of minors, this is the place to document your wishes should the unexpected happen. Invite Contacts to be your child guardians and share your hopes, dreams and practical information to ensure the welfare of your children.

Notes & Reflections

This is the place to leave practical advice, thoughts, or reminders for the people you care about. From how to set the house alarm to your favourite recipe, these are the things only you would know, that need to be passed on.

Gifts & Donations

Primarily a way of recording what Gifts or Donations you have made to aid with tax and financial planning. This list captures all of that but allows for future donations, perhaps you have a favourite charity to donate part of your estate to?

Loved Pets

This is where Wills and Powers of Attorney really fail us, very often our loved pets are overlooked. Who will continue to care for them and in what manner? Invite your chosen contacts to be the nominated guardian for them and provide all essential information like diets, exercise habits, medication, microchip, etc.

Farewell Plans

How would you like your send off to be? Add in your preferred ceremony, services, songs, place and all your preferences. If you have a pre-paid funeral plan, document it here for your Digital Executor to find and manage.

Memorial Page

How would your like your obituary to read? What would you like to say as your parting words to your family and friends? Use this space to make your story heard. Digital Executors typically use this as the initial notice to your family & friends.

Afterword Message

Leaving messages for loved ones for when you’re not here is one of the features we are most proud of. A simple message, a voice recording or a video really helps those left behind. Make as many messages as you choose, tell the World what you want in your own way.

Bucket List

If you’ve ever had a yearning to achieve something, maybe learning to play an instrument or visit a far away location, this is the place to capture that intention. Share with Contacts and get busy living the life you have always dreamed of.

Life Timeline

Preserve the knowledge and the important events that shaped your life. From your birth, marriage, children, career, magic holidays and meeting friends. Ensure the memories are properly preserved for future generations. Add Photos or Videos to any item.
